A new national study ranked America’s safest cities for Halloween. While El Paso didn’t make the official list, we ran the numbers ourselves and the numbers look pretty sweet.
Using the same metrics from the national study: crime rates, pedestrian safety, police presence, and sex offender data, El Paso earns a score of 55 out of 100, landing squarely in the “pretty safe” range. For comparison, Yonkers, New York, was ranked the Safest City for Halloween in the nation with a score of 97.
Over 1,000 El Paso Police Department officers help keep neighborhoods secure. Pedestrian safety numbers remain strong compared to many major cities. All told, El Paso earns a solid B– for Halloween safety, thanks to strong community spirit and the city’s proud reputation for being one of the safest large metros in the nation.
So go ahead and get your candies ready for handing out, light up those front porches, and have a safe, spooky, and very El Paso Halloween!
